Raynor offers belt-drive, chain-drive and wall-mount garage door openers. Compare the exact model for battery backup, myQ connectivity, lighting and camera features. The door brand alone does not establish opener compatibility, and older Raynor openers have different accessories from current models.
Raynor opener options to compare
| Model | Drive | Key distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Prodigy III | Wall-mount jackshaft | Frees the central ceiling space; battery backup and myQ connectivity. |
| Sentinel 360 BBU | Belt drive | Overhead unit with camera, lighting and battery backup. |
| Sentinel 360 HD BBU | Chain drive | A heavier-duty configuration with camera and battery backup. |
These examples come from Raynor's current opener lineup. Check the exact specification and local availability before ordering.

Replacing an existing Raynor opener
Record the motor-unit model and manufacture date, remote model and door type. A wall-mount unit needs a compatible spring shaft and sufficient side clearance; it is not a universal replacement for an overhead opener. California requires battery backup on new residential opener installations.
Programming and maintenance
Follow the manual for the motor unit and remote. Learn-button sequences differ, and holding a button too long can erase stored devices. For a lost remote, use the model's memory-erasure procedure and pair the devices you keep.
Keep sensor lenses clean and check for visible damage from the floor. Do not lubricate a belt or adjust chain tension based on generic advice; use the manual's maintenance schedule. Stop using a door that binds, moves unevenly or has a damaged spring or cable.
