A true roll-up garage door coils a curtain above the opening. A sectional door lifts hinged panels onto overhead tracks. Both may be called "roll-up," but they need different hardware and clearance. A coiling door frees ceiling depth while still needing space above the opening for its coil.
Three constructions to distinguish

Measure clearance before choosing
Record opening width and height, headroom for the coil or hood, side room for guides and operator, and the supporting structure. Less ceiling track does not mean less headroom. Have the installer check the selected door's drawing against the opening.
Operation, cost and upkeep
Manual, chain-hoist and powered operation depend on the model and size. Ask for the operating method, cycle rating, seals, insulation and installed scope. Price and required maintenance differ between basic storage doors and commercial service doors; neither is defined by steel alone.
Installation and spring or barrel repairs require a trained technician. Do not adjust tension or force a curtain that is binding in its guides.
